The Kasturba Gandhi Hospital in Chennai is a Hospital for the poorest of the poor women in South India. It is basically a Hospital for women who complain of terrible gynaecological conditions like vesicovaginal fistulae, massive genital prolapse etc.  The conditions in this hospital are very bare and sparse and Professor Rane goes to this hospital 3 times a year to help out in the treatment of these extremely unfortunate women.
